Dena Rice-Ellis

My name is Dena Rice-Ellis. I was born in Grand Falls, NL on November 9th1986. I’ve been living in Bishop’s Falls all of my life, it is where I was raised and where I discovered who I am. I grew up in church and ever since I was a little girl I loved to sing.

When I became apart of the youth group, I was asked to sing back-up in the band. Eventually I built up the confidence to sing solo’s in church and other church events. Then I became a Worship Leader in youth. Singing has always been my passion. God has opened so many doors so I can see the plan he has for my life.

I was recently married in June 2008.  My husband Owen has been so encouraging and supportive in every way. I’m so thankful that God has brought us together, I can’t imagine life without him. I am also so blessed to have wonderful parents, family and friends who have also encouraged me to continue singing and do it whole heartedly for God.

Ever since I started singing in church it has been a dream of mine to record an album. But to me it was only a dream, something I thought would never become reality. In 2007 I wrote my first song “You are awesome”. God has done awesome things in my life ever since. I began to write more songs, and in early 2008 I began to record for this album “Forever Grateful” He is the reason I can sing, he is my reason for living, whatever I do in life, wherever I go, I want him to be apart of it. I have enjoyed every minute of this journey; it has been an experience I’ll never forget.
